Event update, 21.5.16:
Thank you to all those who helped make last night’s MYTH BUSTING event a success. About 50 people participated in the workshop and the feedback we had was very positive.
Thank you to Hilary Bee and her team from Beyond Borders Totnes who were our very gracious hosts, and to all those who left their homes on a wet Friday evening to attend.
Pip Harris, Lucy Lepchani, Simon Chater & Yaara Lahav Gregory facilitated the evening. Thanks. Over £60 was raised in donations towards expenses and charity, £30 of which has now been transferred to the British Red Cross Syria Appeal (see screenshot).
As part of Open Arms Festival our group presents:
Refugees – facts and fears – Friday 20 May:
The Ashburton Refugee Support Network invites everyone to an evening of myth-busting about refugees. Challenge your ideas, assumptions and fears… and those of other people, in a friendly evening of discussions and workshops.
Friday 20th May, 7.00-9.00 p.m.
at Totnes Methodist Church.
Tickets: we ask for donations towards the cost of hiring the church. Any surplus will go to the British Red Cross Syria Appeal fund.
There will be an opportunity to share a few facts and figures with the group, so please bring one or two refugees-related facts if you wish to. If you have any articles or letters to politicians bring them along as there may be an opportunity to share them.
